The stunning 27-hole Paarl Golf Course is situated in the picturesque valley on the outskirts of South Africa’s third-oldest town, Paarl. The course, first laid out on the banks of the Berg River in the 1950s, has been redesigned by Danie Obermeyer and David Frost. David Frost, a Paarl native and still a prominent winemaker in the area, has brought local knowledge and experience gained on both the US and European professional golf tours in assisting in the design of the course. The Course is a unique 27 hole facility – some holes meander along the Berg River while many are tree-lined lush green channels which present the golfer with a smooth mix of risk and reward. Water hazards are the most prominent challenge with the majority of holes having a water trap that needs careful consideration by any golfer – even the Pro’s. The Club has recently hosted some of South Africa’s Sunshine Tour Events with great success. Local Corporate Golf Days are well organised and the Club enjoys a large list of annual events. Visitors from around the Country and indeed the Globe will never forget the warm friendly and visually stunning experience – this is Paarl Golf Club.
