Information

A unique golfing environment; Machair a Gaelic word for an extensive low-flying fertile plain. It is a unique semi-natural habitat created by a combination of its geographical position, its soils of shell sand and by a history of traditional cultivation. Aware of the Machair's environmental importance, Askernish Golf Club maintains its playing areas without the use of artificial irrigation, fertilisers or pesticides. As a result Askernish Golf Course has regurarly been nominated for sustainability awards
