At Carmel, members are offered two championship 18-hole courses on 384 acres of landscaped greenery, each with its own distinct personality. A perfect complement to the traditional feel of the North Course is the bold, modern South Course which plays 7,500 yards. Redesigned in 2009-2011 by distinguished golf course architect Rees Jones, the South Course offers Bentgrass greens, Zoysia grass landscaping on fairways and tees, with Celebration Bermuda grass woven into the roughs. New irrigation systems run throughout the course. Specific sculpting, including elevation shifts, comprises every hole. The South Course offers golfers a new experience every round, embodying beauty, natural surroundings and challenging play.
