Description
Located on the shores of Lake Taupo, the Taupo Golf Club opened the Tauhara in 1928 as a 9-hole course which was extended to 18 holes in 1954. Centennial the second course designed by two-time NZ PGA Championship winner Ernie Southerden was opened in 1973. Taupo Golf Club is the only golf club in NZ offering two very different golfing experiences. Centennial – a championship length course at 6,369 metres is a classic NZ inland course set in park-like surroundings providing several challenging holes with greens well protected by strategically placed bunkers. It has one of the most intimidating finishing holes in the country.
