Description
In 1973 opent het Recreatieschap Brielse Maas de eerste openbare golfbaan, waarna in 1974 de 21e golfclub in Nederland wordt opgericht. De baan omvat eerst 9 en daarna 6 holes en wordt in 1985 een 18-holes baan. Door het afstoten van bepaalde taken door de overheid krijgt Golfclub Kleiburg de gelegenheid de baan en het clubgebouw in eigen beheer te nemen. In 1992 vindt een uitbreiding naar de zuidkant van de Krabbeweg plaats waardoor een 18 holes par 72 baan met A-status ontstaat met een lengte van 5297 meter vanaf de herentee en 4917 meter vanaf de damestee. De baan is gelegen in het recreatiegebied Brielse Meer met aan de noordkant zicht op de industrie.
