The course is set on a plateau in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains and it mixes mature trees, lakes and gentle slopes to great effect. The aim at Rathfarnham Golf Club is to provide a challenging but fair test to all standards of golfers. The challenges are exciting, with the Owendoher river and 4 lakes providing beautiful obstacles to a good score and mature trees lining every fairway to provide strong definition on each hole. At times you forget how close you are to Dublin city centre as you meander peacefully through beautifully presented holes. Full USGA spec tees and greens and generously drained fairways and roughs provide immaculate playing surfaces all year round and the construction of 3 new holes and redesign of 3 existing holes shows Rathfarnham Golf Club’s continuous commitment to excellence.
