Bantry Bay Golf Club invites visitors to enjoy one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in Ireland, “The Best in the Southwest”. It was always likely to be special when Bantry Bay became the canvas for Christy O’Connor Junior and Eddie Hackett to design a USGA standard course. The result of their vision (Hackett, 1975 and O’Connor, 1997) is a 170-acre course that ticks all the boxes for an excellent golfing destination. Winding its way around the spectacular parkland 18-hole course is an even more spectacular coastline that can be experienced on 14 of the 18 challenging holes. The par 3 9th green is high above Bantry Bay and the elevation brings spectacular 180-degree views of Bantry House, The Sheeps Head, Whiddy Island and Hungry Hill, all famous tourist destinations. 6719 yards (6144m) in length, Bantry Bay serves up a nice challenge to the scratch and handicap golfer alike and with holes varying in length from the 126 metre par 3, to the long 487 metre par 5.
