  Very well maintained golf course featuring nine properly challenging holes with bunkers,bends and hazards in the right places. Practice facilities are fine too. Really enjoyed my rounds there. By the way, the Golfpro turned out to be Dutch - a nice coincidence if you are Dutch too and have a question...

  Golf de Mortemarte is the closest course to our house in France (about 40 mins travel). We found this course many years ago when it was being constructed and never thought that it would become as good as it is! Nicolas and his team have worked so hard to create a little gem in the French countryside. Every time I am over here I arrange to play with a friend (we usually just play the original 9 holes). The course has recently been extended to 12 holes - not played the three new holes as yet. There are also good practice facilities - a range, a putting green and a chipping area. The course is always in good condition, the staff are friendly and welcoming (Chloe was on reception today - I had booked via email - and she greeted us with a smiling face and made me use my very basic French! ). After the game, which I won on this occasion, we had a socially distanced drink on the terrace. All the necessary things were in place - hand gel / use of masks indoors etc... I don’t normally visit in August - it was busy today. Usually play out of high season and it is easier then just to turn up and play.
