Donnington Grove is considered to be one of the most challenging golf courses in Newbury. Set in 550 acres of prime Berkshire countryside, the course is set in a delightfully secluded position on the outskirts of Newbury. Overlooked by the historic Donnington Castle on one side and flanked by the River Lambourn on the other, its mixture of terrain, from classic woodland to ascending vantage points, provides an ideal setting for championship standard golf play. The Donnington course was designed by PGA member Dave Thomas, one of Britain’s foremost golf architects. The course was completed and first played in June 1993. But it isn't just the surroundings that mark Donnington Grove as one of the best Newbury golf courses. High standards of maintenence produce pitch perfect fairways and features, with fast and true greens that never disappoint. Having been built to USGA standards, you will not see any temporary greens or tees and with its excellent drainage the course is playable all year round.

Great layout. Long. Greens in great nick, rest of course very dry and in need of some TLC. Buggy recommended due to walks between tees.
