Aldeburgh Golf Club (Championship)

Established in 1884, Aldeburgh Golf Club has two courses, the 18 hole Championship Course and the River Course, a delightful 9 holes more suitable for beginners and high handicap golfers. The Championship Course at 6,603 yards but with no par fives on the men's card is a substantial challenge for even the best golfer. The SSS off the Blue tees is 73 against a par of 68. Every hole presents an examination in shotmaking and accuracy; a stroke given away to the course is difficult to recover. It is also a beautiful place to play golf. The views of the River Alde and glimpses of the North Sea, grey one day blue another, are enough to raise the spirits even when the score is not quite up to expectation.
