Woodmont Country Club (North)

Home of the 120th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, the North Course is Woodmont Country Club's original 18-hole course in Rockville, Maryland. The golf course was designed and constructed by Course Architect Alfred Tull with input and assistance from Woodmont member Leopold Freudberg and Greens Superintendent Rudy Will. Its Grand Opening was on July 26, 1950, and it has played to rave reviews ever since. In 1999, the North Course went through an extensive renovation, including replacing the original 18 greens done by renowned Course Architect Arthur Hills. From 2018 through 2020, the 18th hole on the North Course was redesigned, relocated, and a rebuild of all bunkers, under the oversight of architect Joel Weiman. Long recognized for its championship golf course and welcoming atmosphere, Woodmont has hosted many Maryland State, Washington Metro, and Middle Atlantic Golf Association Championships. Since 1987, Woodmont has hosted the Final Qualifying for the U.S. Open and, on several occasions, the final qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open. The U.S. Women's Amateur Championship is its first USGA championship.
