Description
The Sunset Golf Club is Huntingdon County’s original 18-hole, Public Golf Course. Located just minutes from Raystown Lake and only a half a hour from Penn State University, this scenic golf course is the perfect pairing of challenge and relaxation. The course was designed in 1973 by Golf Course Architect, Geoffrey St. John Cornish, ASGCA and features 6,593 yards of golf for a Par 70. Sunset Golf Club has a rating of 72 and a slope rating of 126. Number 16, our signature hole, will test even the best golfer. The featured dogleg taunts experienced and novice golfers alike. It’s a par 4 for men at 405 yards and a Par 5 for women at 324 yards. Sunset Golf Club is open to the public year-round and offers a fully stocked Pro Shop, a putting green, driving range, a bar and, dining and banquet facilities. The public is always welcome, but memberships are also available.

Grant LaChatAugust 02, 2023This is a fantastic “hidden gem” of central PA. It is an amazing value to golf here and a fantastic course to push you to be better. I drive from over an hour away to golf here because it is that good. I’d highly recommend this course to all of my golfing friends. Also, this course is now called “Sunset Golf Course”.

Best public course (non-PSU) near State College. Always easy to hop on and a good mix of challenging and easy. Would come here everyday if I lived closer.

This place is awesome! It’s a little out of the way so there’s rarely any people here. Course conditions are usually ok, and the layout can make it a little challenging even off the white tees. Would highly recommend to anyone in central PA!
