Description
Located in ‘The Cups’ region of the Mornington Peninsula and metres from the thundering surf of Gunnamatta Beach, St Andrews Beach Golf Course originally opened as an exclusive members course and debuted as the 9th best course in Australia in 2006. It is built on a stunning piece of land that lends itself perfectly to the tradition of the famous links courses of Britain and Ireland and can be compared favourably with the courses in Melbourne’s famous sandbelt region. Internationally renowned golf course architect, Tom Doak is the designer of this classic 18 hole links style course and his aim was to create one of the best golf courses in the world.

Is an exceptionally good layout & for the first time we got it almost windless. Great spot!

Awesome course, great condition & very challenging. Yet to play a better public course in Victoria.

As you drive through the gated entrance to St. Andrews beach golf course you begin to experience the beautiful landscape that the course is set in. The staff were very helpful and as I call to play just before I played . They were were very accommodating and helpful. I hired a set of clubs which were in very good condition . The course is a challenging course set in an undulating landscape . The greens were in good condition some of the edges of bunkers and the edges of fairways could do with a bit of a manicure. The course cleverly uses the natural landscape to define the holes . At just over 6000 m the course is not overly long but the par 70 course protects itself with great and well placed bunkering and difficult fast greens. There are some great short par 4 ‘s that offer the possibility to get on board the green in one but any wayward shots will be punished by the difficult bunkers. The wind is also a factor the par 3 4th 197m required a driver on the day I played . When the wind blows this course is a very difficult proposition. A simple clubhouse that has everything that you could need. A very good course that I would recommend to any keen golfer. Mark Duffy h9 Ireland
