  Great course, challenging greens

  Orsett Golf Club is a must play course and one of the best layouts in Essex. Theres a big mixture of hole types from straight and flat too high up dog leg tee shots. Not a long course by any means, no need to be a big hitter (I used my driver once) and most greens are reachable in regulation. The Greens are fast but not much undulation makes reading the green a lot easier than other courses. I found there was a slight flaw regarding tee times as the course doesn’t use actual time slots, you que on the 1st tee and wait your time, which resulted in very slow play.

  The course is brutal. The rough is proper rough and over knee high. It’s a nice layout and the greens are very fast. Fairways are dry so you get lots of bounce. Course plays shorter than it’s yardage in the summer. Be straight or lose lots of balls.
