Hannastown Golf Club

Hannastown Golf Club was founded by Thomas Jamison, an Oakmont member. He lived in Greensburg and wanted a private course. The initial nine holes were built in 1919 by Emil “Dutch” Loeffler, the superintendent at Oakmont Country Club. For 80 years, the club was a 9-hole facility. 1997, Hannastown added an additional 9 holes. The new 9 has smaller greens that feature some interesting slopes and mounds in the center of the greens. These greens tend to penalize you if you try to short-side yourself by creating difficult chips over the center mound to a green that slopes away. If you do not miss on the short side, you usually have an easier uphill chip. The course is now 6,668 yards and plays to a par of 70. There are five par 3s and three par 5s. The course rating is 72.5, and the slope is 132 from the tips.
