Il Golf Club Varese, fondato nel 1897, si è stabilito nell’attuale sede di Luvinate nel 1934. L’attuale percorso, progettato originariamente dagli architetti Gannon e Blanford e ampliato a 18 buche verso la metà degli anni ’50, è un par 72 ondulato e tecnicamente molto interessante. Ogni buca, immersa tra il verde di maestose piante secolari, offre scorci di incomparabile bellezza panoramica che raggiungono la Catena del Monte Rosa, i Laghi Maggiore, di Varese e di Monate, nonché le colline del Sacro Monte e del Campo dei Fiori, immediatamente alle spalle del campo da golf.
