What began as a family getaway, over the course of almost a half century, The Golf Club at Fox Acres has become a unique retreat where the woes of the outside world can be replaced by a multitude of entertaining outdoor activities, especially golf. The golf club, which began life as 38 pine-laden acres and a log cabin, has grown more than tenfold and the club now includes 15 lakes, trails for skiing and fishing. In short, Fox Acres is a refuge in which the splendors of nature can be absorbed in all the ways that can bring a family together – whether it be day spent fishing, an early morning hike through a flowering meadow or the mere silent contemplation of the overwhelming serenity. And for those who are addicted to Golf all 18 holes Fox Acres provides one of the most acclaimed golfing getaways in the state, with holes that meander through the rock outcroppings and the trees that close in to form a barrier against the outside world.
